Gerald Gurss is a composer whose work defies traditional boundaries. When he approached us, he didn’t want a standard, corporate-style portfolio. He asked for a digital design that matched his vibrant personality and the theatrical, expressive nature of his music. The goal was to create a "digital stage" that felt as energetic and unique as the compositions themselves.
We threw out the traditional web design playbook to build a site inspired by the bold aesthetics of a comic book. Moving away from standard grids and muted tones, we embraced a super fun, high-contrast style that uses bright colors and graphic elements to guide the user through Gerald's world.
By utilizing nontraditional website elements—like "action" frames, pop-art-inspired buttons, and dynamic layouts, we transformed his portfolio into an interactive experience. Gerald's site doesn't just list his work; it showcases his compositions as part of a larger-than-life narrative.
Anthony has over 30 years of experience in advertising, art direction, and illustration/design. He has held the role of creative director for several companies and has worked with a diverse range of clients, including Target, 3M, Ecolab, Starkey, McDonalds, General Mills, British Airways, Tonka Toys, Kemps, Nabisco, and more—executing memorable and impactful illustrations & designs that have helped to establish their brands.
